Obituary

Marilyn E. (Casey) O’Rourke, 90, of Worcester went home to the Lord on October 10th, 2018 peacefully at home. Her husband of 47 years, Joseph B. O’Rourke died in 2002. She leaves behind her son, Paul J. Lewis-O’Rourke and his husband, Alex Lewis-O’Rourke of Worcester; and several nieces and nephews including, William G. O’Rourke who was her companion. She was predeceased by her sisters, Marie Casey and Dorothy Emonds and her brother, Richard Casey.
She was born in Worcester in 1927, the daughter of the late Cyrus and Mary (Smith) Casey and lived here all her life. Marilyn graduated from the former High School of Commerce and worked at New England Telephone Company until her retirement in 1989.
A devout Catholic and world traveler, Marilyn was a founding member of St. Andrew the Apostle Church and was a member of it’s Ladies Guild, Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Pioneers of N.E. Telephone Co.
The family wishes to thank VNA Hospice for their support and care given to Marilyn in her final days.
Her funeral is Saturday, October 13th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 5 Spaulding Street. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, October 12th from 4:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
