Obituary

Worcester: Alice Ulrika Nordstrom, 85, of Worcester went home to Heaven on October 4th after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Worcester to the late Carl and Edith (Westlund) Nordstrom, she is survived by her 2 brothers Helge and his wife Helen of Worcester and Carl and his wife Carol of Charlton; a sister Ethel Swedberg of Worcester and sister-in-law Alice H. Nordstrom of Millbury. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and her beloved dog "Joy". She was predeceased by her parents, 2 brothers- Hilding and Robert Nordstrom and 2 sisters-Esther Thompson and Hulda Peloquin.

Alice graduated from Commerce High School, The Salvation Army School of Officer Training in Bronx, NY and Clark University. She served many years with the Salvation Army, including the Salvation Army Home and Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. Alice worked for several companies using her accounting skills and retired from the Town of Hudson, MA as the Assistant Financial Director.

She was a gifted artist and painted many beautiful pictures. She also enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and cheering for the Red Sox and NE Patriots.

Alice had a deep faith in Jesus Christ, Our Saviour, which was a comfort to her and the many lives she touched. Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral service which will be held at Salem Covenant Church 215 East Mountain St. Worcester at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 9th. Lt. Colonel Fred and his wife Barbara Van Brunt from The Salvation Army will officiate. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
