Obituary




Robert R. Pichette, 79, of Worcester, died Monday, September 24th in St. Vincent Hospital after a brief illness with his children by his side. He is survived by his children, Suzann M. Smith of Gun Barrel City, TX, John P. Pichette and his wife, Kathleen of Worcester, Steven E. Pichette and his wife, Marybeth of Merrimac, and David A. Pichette and his wife, Donna of Gilbert, AZ; a brother, Ronald Pichette and his wife, Marilyn of Port Charlotte, FL; his sister, Sandra Milosh and her husband, Arthur of Worcester; nine grandchildren, Shelby Williams, Tucker Smith, Allison, Kristen and Lauren Pichette, Luc and Sydney Pichette and David and Tyler Greeson and his former wife, Eleanor G. Richards of Worcester. He was predeceased by a brother, Roger Pichette, a sister, Janet Clark and his son-in-law, John K. Smith.

He was born in Worcester, the son of Roland and Estelle (Laquerre) Pichette and was a graduate of Holy Name of Jesus, Boy's Trade School and Worcester Junior College. Robert then enlisted in the Air Force where he was an aircraft mechanic. He then worked at Heald Machine, Sprague Electric, UMass Medical Center as a bio-medical Engineering technician and retired from Digital Equipment. He was a member of the Genesis Club of Worcester and enjoyed many activities throughout the year, such as camping, fishing, working on cars and billiards, but most of all time spent with his family and friends.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Doctor, Nurses and staff of the Critical Care Unit at St. Vincent Hospital who helped make his final days as comfortable as possible.

His Memorial Service will be held, Saturday, September 29th at 1:00 p.m. in O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. A visitation will be held from Noon until the time of the service on Saturday.
