Obituary




Theodore J. Kiritsy, 86, of Worcester, died Friday, September 7th in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home. He is survived by his wife of almost 63 years of marriage, Helen B. (Boris) Kiritsy; two sons, Peter V. Kiritsy and his wife, Wendy of Woonsocket, RI formerly of Grafton and Christopher A. Kiritsy and his wife, Meridith of Worcester; three daughters, Kathleen H. Graceffa of Centerville, Cynthia U. Ambrosino and her husband, Vincent of Shrewsbury and Laura A. Kiritsy and her wife, Catherine Paden of Boston; a brother, Hugh Kiritsy and his wife, Elizabeth of Upton; his sister, Rosemary Simpson and her husband, Glenn of Worcester; ten grandchildren, Tabitha, Bethany, Kayla, Theodore, Isabelle, Liv, Grace, Abby, Dominic and Victoria and many nephews and nieces.

He was born in Providence, RI, the son of George and Mary (Reynolds) Kiritsy. Mr. Kiritsy was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He had owned and operated George's Fruit Store which was established by his father in 1923 on Millbury Street. He relocated the business to Chandler Street in 1975 where he and his sons proudly provided personal customer service in Central MA for many years. He later worked for Worcester Quality Foods and the Big Y, before retiring at the age of 82. Theodore was a member of St. Joseph's Parish in Auburn and the Disabled American Veterans. He was an avid Red Sox, Patriots and Boston Celtics fan and enjoyed spending time with his wife at Foxwood's. His greatest joy was spending time around the family pool, especially with his grandchildren.

His funeral is Tuesday, September 11th from O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with his funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford Street, Auburn. Entombment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours are Monday, September 10th, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Shrine of St. Anthony, c/o St. Paul's Cathedral, 38 High Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
