Obituary

SOUTHBRIDGE: Joy McGrath of Southbridge, MA, passed away August 25, in the presence of her loving son, Seth D. Dinoi of New Bedford, MA. Joy lived all of her life in the Worcester County area. She was preceded in death by her identical twin sister, Judith Ann Fredette. They were inseparable until Judith’s untimely death. Joy also leaves behind her devoted nephew, Mark Skiest of Spencer, MA, her son, Christopher Dinoi and grandson, Cody Dinoi. She also leaves behind her beloved cat, Irish.
Joy was a registered nurse having attended college at Quinsigamond Community College and Fitchburg State College. Most recently she worked as Nurse Manager and the Clinical Coordinator of the Psychiatric Department at Harrington Memorial Hospital and was an adjunct lecturer at Quinsigamond Community College. Joy was a dedicated health care provider and more importantly, she loved her job. In her free time, Joy traveled the world, visiting all parts of the Caribbean and most recently, celebrating her birthday with Seth in Italy. Joy loved animals and always had a cat in her home. Joy was very proud of her Irish heritage and would love her friends to share a Guinness and toast her good life.
Seth is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and prayers and support in the many heart-felt forms far too many to name individually. Joy had many loved friends and neighbors, too numerous to mention. During her illness, she chose to end her life quietly but thought of them all often and had immense gratitude for their love and concern. A special thanks to the dedicated nurses and caregivers at Lutheran Rehabilitation Center and the staff at Harrington Memorial Cancer Center including Dr. Christopher Seidler, Joy’s Oncologist.
Funeral Services will be private. A gathering of friends and co-workers to remember Joy will be held Sept. 29, 1-3 pm. at Fins & Tales • 858 Main Street, Southbridge, MA 01550. An Irish Blessing to Remember Joy
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
And rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in his hand??
