Worcester – Richard F. Murphy, 77, of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 22nd in his home.
Richard is survived by his wife of 30 years, Patricia J. (Farrell) Murphy; his three step children, Paul Weldon of West Boylston, Patrick Weldon of Worcester and Pamela Kuketz of Worcester; 7 brothers and sisters; 8 grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Mr. Murphy was born in Worcester, son of the late Harold and Rena (Brockway) Murphy and is also predeceased by a brother.
Richard worked as an assembler for many years with the Coppus Engineering Company. He was an avid sports fan, but especially enjoyed watching the Patriots and Red Sox. Mr. Murphy was a country music enthusiast and could often be found taking day trips to Foxwoods.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 31st at 10 AM in St. Peter’s Church 929 Main St. Burial will be at a later date in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. is assisting the family with arrangements.
