Worcester – Shirley M. (Arrell) Lavallee, 89, of Worcester, died peacefully on Saturday, July 21st in the Christopher House Nursing Home.
Shirley was married for 63 years to the late Richard R. Lavallee who died on January 1, 2017. She is survived by a son, Robert Lavallee of Oxford and Richard Lavallee; a daughter, Debra O’Clair of Spencer; a sister, Peggy Gerardi of Worcester; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
Shirley was born in Worcester, daughter of the late John and Margaret Arrell and is also predeceased by a sister, Dorothea Piascik.
Mrs. Lavallee graduated from Commerce High School and worked for many years as a clerk at the former Barnards Department Store and also worked at the former Johnson Steel and Wire Company.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Christopher House and Jewish Healthcare Hospice for the exceptional love, care and support that was shown to Shirley and her family during her final days.
The funeral will be held on Friday, July 27th from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM in Sacred Heart – St. Catherine of Sweden Church 600 Cambridge St. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 26th from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
