John R. Richards, 71 of Derry, NH died peacefully on Sunday July 22, 2018 at the Parkland Medical Center, Derry. John was born in Dover Foxcroft, ME on February 22, 1947 the son of the late Guy and Alma (Smith) Richards. He had resided in Derry for the past three years, formerly living in Londonderry, NH for 38 years. John had been employed as a currier for Eastern Rainbow in Derry. John was an avid Red Sox and Celtics fan, and enjoyed hunting and deep sea fishing. He loved spending time with his family and playing cribbage.
He is survived by his wife, Lynne (Coco) Richards of Derry, two sons, Michael Guy Richards of Londonderry, and Eric Gregory Richards and his wife Lisa of Pittsfield, NH, one daughter, Jylle Lynne Marion and her husband Dennis of Derry, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, five siblings, Floyd Richards, Franklin “Buddy” Richards, Clyde Richards, Althea Levesque, and Luvera Chase all of Maine, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, John Joseph Richards, his siblings, Ivory Richards, Harry Richards, Guy Richards, Jr., Ernest Richards, Madeline Mann, and Jenny Stone.
Following cremation, calling hours were held on Friday July 27, 2018 from 1 – 4 pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry.
