DUDLEY – Barbara I. (Boksa) Fontaine, 87, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 at the home of her daughter surrounded by her loving family. Her husband of 40 years, Albert R. Fontaine, died in 1995.
She leaves a son, Kenneth Fontaine and his wife Nancy of Chapel Hill, NC; a daughter, Laura Fasano and her husband Vincent of New Fairfield, CT; 5 grandchildren, Danielle and Nicole Fasano, and Andrew, Samuel and Marcus Fontaine; 2 sisters, Wanda Kijek and Rose Tavernier; nieces and nephews.
She was born on July 6, 1931 in Southbridge a daughter of Walter and Bridget (Kowalski) Boksa. After her marriage on September 25, 1954, she lived in Dudley.
Mrs. Fontaine was an inspector at the American Optical Company in Southbridge for 30 years before retiring in 1995. She was a member of the AO Quarter Century Club.
A funny and loving “Babci,” she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, July 24, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main St., Webster. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Webster. Visiting hours will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, July 23, in the funeral home.
