Obituary

Roger E. “Skip” Fyrbeck, 74, of Worcester died peacefully Thursday, July 19th in his daughter’s home surrounded by his devoted family. His wife of 46 years, Theresa (Oszurkiewicz) Fyrbeck died in 2012. He leaves two daughters; Karen Ferraro and her husband, Paul of Leicester and their children, Michael and Steven, and Wendy O’Neill and her husband, William of Leicester and their children, Ryan, Jack and Ally; two great granddaughters, Hazel Mae and Ella Violet; and a brother, Lee Fyrbeck and his wife, Madeline of Worcester.
He was born in Worcester the son of Emil and Ida E. (Sundell) Fyrbeck. Skip was a master electrician for 54 years and a teacher with Griffin Electric, retiring in 2017. He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church. Skip loved golfing, hunting and was a skilled archer. He enjoyed playing cribbage with his grandchildren and watching them play sports. Skip’s favorite pastimes were vacationing in Maine with his family and jigsaw puzzling with his daughters and grandchildren.
His funeral is Monday, July 23rd from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, July 22nd from 2:00 until 5:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Leicester High School Booster Club, 174 Paxton Street, Leicester, MA 01524.
