Obituary

Irene M. (Okleiteris) Bastardo, 95, of Worcester died peacefully in Dodge Park Rest Home on Tuesday July 3, 2018. Her first husband Louis Kasprzak died many years ago. Her husband Frank M. Bastardo died in 1976.

Irene leaves two sons, Paul M. Bastardo of Worcester and Michael P. Bastardo and his wife Susan of Holden, and a son-in-law Al Forjette of Worcester; seven grandchildren, Kevin Forjette and his wife Anita, Kristin (Forjette) Vasel, David Forjette, Joseph Bastardo, Jena DelCid and her husband Andrew, Timothy Bastardo and Nicole Bastardo, five great-grandchildren, Henry and Ana Forjette, Alex and Katelin Vasel and Marina DelCid. Irene also leaves many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Joan I. Forjette who died in 2011, and by two brothers and three sisters: Joseph, Anthony, Isabel, Vitallia and Rita. Irene was born in Worcester, a daughter of Anthony and Eva (Rice) Okleiteris.

Irene was a skilled seamstress and before her marriage worked for the Royal Worcester Corset Co. She enjoyed cross country skiing and snowmobiling in her younger years. She loved spending time with her family or traveling to her chalet in New Hampshire where she had many dear friends.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday July 10, 2018 with a service at 11:00 AM in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. A calling hour will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday July 10, 2018 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dodge Park Rest Home, 101 Randolph Rd., Worcester, MA., 01606 or to Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, Ma., 02452.
