Obituary

WORCESTER___Eleanor K. Gadilauskas, 90, of Worcester, died peacefully on Friday June 1, 2018 in Rose Monahan Hospice Home. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, John F. Gadilauskas who died in 2012.

She leaves a daughter, Christine F. Shaughnessy and her husband William of Norcross, GA., her 3 sons Richard Gadilauskas and wife Nancy of Sterling, John Gadilauskas and wife Ruth of Sebastopol, Ca., and David Gadilauskas and wife Linda of Shrewsbury; six granddaughters, Jennifer Whelan, Caitlin Cunningham, Elizabeth Gadilauskas, Abilgail Gadilauskas, Marisa Gadilauskas and Sara Gadilauskas. She also leaves her great granddaughter Caroline Whelan and a brother, Richard Karalus of Worcester and several nieces and nephews. Eleanor was born in Worcester a daughter of the late Anthony and Isabel (Jogas) Karalus and has lived here all of her life. She was a graduate of Commerce High School.

Mrs. Gadilauskas was a telephone operator 20 years for the City of Worcester and retired in 1992. Previously she worked for Worcester County National Bank as a telephone operator. Eleanor was a member of Council 26, Knight of Lithuania and was a member of the former St. Casimir Church. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday June 5, 2018 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd. Entombment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours in the funeral home are Monday June 4, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
