Athina (Gjore) Mato, 78 of Worcester, died Friday, May 25th at home with her loving family by her side. Her husband, Naum Mato died in 1980. She is survived by two sons, Jovan Mato and his wife, Luljeta and Ardi Mato and his wife, Mirela all of Pogredec, Albania; four daughters, Zana Shyta and her husband, Simon of Worcester, Viollanda Icellari and her husband, Sotiraq of Pogredec, Albania, Xhuljeta Bravica and her husband, Koco of Thessaloniki, Greece and Rita Avushka of Korce, Albania; two sisters, Vita Gjoka and Anastasia Dhami both of Pogredec, Albania; twelve grandchildren, Kristi, Elena, Andoneta, Irisa, Nikola, Noel, Elona, Olti, Alexander, Gene. Niko and Fanika and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Sokol Mato; a brother, Guri Gjore and her sister, Benderie.
She was born in Lin, Albania the daughter of Stefan and Vangjelia (Bice) Gjore . She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services and burial will be in Albania. O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family with arrangements.
