Philip M. Pelletier, 96, of Tilton, NH, died Wednesday May 23, 2018 in Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. He was born in Derry, NH on September 7, 1921, youngest son of the late Henry and Marie (Bienvenue) Pelletier. He was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Irene (Raymond) Pelletier in 2011; and one sister Lauria Grandy and three brothers, Rouville, Leo, and Henry Pelletier. He had been a resident of Bow for the past couple of years, formerly living in Bedford, NH and Londonderry, NH. Phil was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy in Derry, Class of 1942. He served in the Coast Guard during WWII. Phil had been employed as a manager for Aubuchon Hardware in Derry for 37 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #27 in Londonderry. He was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry, where he was a 3rd degree Knights of Columbus member. He was also a 4th degree Knights of Columbus member in Salem. He was a founding member of the Barbershop Chorus in NH. He sang in the first Barbershop Quartet registered in NH. He was a member of the National Chapter and sang in five national competitions.
He is survived by six sons, Philip C. Pelletier and his wife Priscilla of Florida, Robert F. Pelletier and his wife Marcia of Florida, William J. Pelletier and his wife Constance of Moultonborough, Kenneth P. Pelletier and his wife Elaine of Florida, Peter A. Pelletier and his wife Stephanie of Arizona, Richard A. Pelletier and his wife Lori of Auburn; three daughters, Patricia E. Edsall and her husband Robert of Bedford, Joanne Peterson and her husband Eric of Bow, Cathy Steele and her husband Michael of Hooksett; 21 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours were held on Wednesday, May 30th from 5 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday at 10:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Avenue, Derry. The burial was held in Holy Cross Cemetery in Londonderry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice House, Attn. Development Dept., Home Health and Hospice Care, 7 Executive Park Dr., Merrimack, NH 03054.
