Jeanne Marie Sutton (Cloutier), 73 of Manchester, NH, formerly of Milan, NH passed away Tuesday May 22, 2018 at Elliot Hospital in Manchester surrounded by her family. Jeanne was born in Derry, NH on March 15, 1945 and was a daughter of the late Leonell and Estelle (L’Esprence) Cloutier. She was raised in Derry and was a graduate of Mt. St. Mary Seminary in 1963. After her marriage to Richard E. Sutton, they raised their family in Derry and then Chester.
Jeanne worked for many years as a bus driver and driver trainer for Laidlaw Transportation. Jeanne was a longtime member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church of Derry where she volunteered at the school, the parish council and served as a Eucharistic minister. She was part of the first graduating class of St. Thomas Aquinas School. She worked for three years in the Tribunal at the Diocese of Manchester. She enjoyed cooking and was an avid reader. But her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Richard E. Sutton of Manchester, five children, Robin Gile and her husband Paul of Londonderry, NH, Thomas Sutton and his wife Kari, of Berlin, NH, Melinda White and her husband Michael of Campton, NH, Rebecca Gallo and her husband Michael of Bedford, NH and Kathleen Cochrane and her husband John of Manchester, NH, 21 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, one sister, Lorraine Leblanc of Conway, NH, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, calling hours were held Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 4 to 8 pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 am at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 190 Meetinghouse Rd., Bedford. The burial followed in Holy Cross Cemetery, Gilcreast Rd., Londonderry.
