Obituary

Worcester- Alfred R. Chaput, Sr., 88, passed away peacefully at home embraced in the arms of his loving family on Wednesday, May 9, 2018. He leaves four children- Alfred R. Chaput, Jr., Pamela Chaput , Scott Chaput, and Susan Chaput; four grandchildren;eight great-grandchildren; one sister,Philis Chaput Carter and one brother Ernest. He is predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Ruth H. (Swenson) Chaput, and one brother Lewis.

Alfred was born in Worcester, son of Alfred M. and Laura (Lambert) Chaput. He was a Worcester Police Officer for 33 years and was also a Real Estate Broker and a US Army veteran. He was a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus, Massachusetts Police Association, and the Southern Mass Police Association. Alfred loved nature, fishing, the ocean, and visiting Plum Island. Above all, he loved to spend time with his family and his precious dog, Ming. His love was unconditional and absolute. A man of integrity, honesty, and strength. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 4-7 pm in Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St, Worcester. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow at All Faiths Cemetery in Worcester.
