Obituary

WORCESTER___Paul R. Katinas, 85, of Worcester, passed away May 7, 2018 in St. Vincent Hospital.
He leaves his wife of 59 years, Helen D. (Brock) Katinas, three sons, Paul and his wife Linda of Worcester and their children Andrew and his wife Courtney, Thomas and his fiancée, Jenna, and Paul, Francis and his wife Pamela of Auburn and their children Erin and Jillian, Stephen and his wife Jamie of Sutton and their children Rachel and Joseph, three daughters Diane Brown and her husband Michael of Worcester and their children Christopher and Elizabeth, Patricia O’Leary and her husband Michael of Millbury and their children Kerrin, Paul and Emma and Susan Mathews and her husband Franklin of Auburn and their children Ty, Olivia and Julia and a great –granddaughter, Aubree. Another daughter, Pamela (Katinas) Johnson died in 2013. He was also predeceased by a brother and two sisters, Joseph Katinas, Julia Graves and Helen Knapik. Paul was born in Worcester a son of the late John and Monica (Lukauskas) Katinas and has lived here all of his life.

Mr. Katinas was a foreman for the City of Worcester Forestry & Cemetery Dept., for many years and retired in 1997. Previously he worked 25 years for the Thompson Wire Co. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Katinas was a member of Our Lady of Vilna Church, Southworks Post 3657 Veterans of Foreign Wars and Quinsigamond Post 318, the American Legion. He also faithfully attended the St. John’s Church St. Francis Xavier Novena for 65 years.

The funeral will be held on Friday May 11, 2018 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Vilna Church, 151 Sterling Street. Burial with military honors will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday May 10, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
