Obituary

Marie Keaney, 82, of Rochdale died Wednesday, May 2nd at home with the love of her life. She leaves her husband of 62 years, John T. Keaney; four sons, Thomas J. Keaney and his wife, Rebecca Wright of Harvard, Timothy F. Keaney and his wife, Robin of Auburn, Robert J. Keaney of Sutton and Patrick A. Keaney and his wife, Deanna of Auburn; a daughter, Theresa M. McGauley-Keaney of Rochdale; a sister, Dorothy McGauley of Worcester and eight grandchildren. She also leaves her lifelong friends, Jan Williams, Betty Regele, Sylvia Millett, Ann Finne and Eileen Scopetski. She was predeceased by a brother, Thomas McGauley.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Thomas and Dorothy (Foley) McGauley. Marie was a member of North American Martyrs Church. She was an avid reader, loved dogs, and completed the crossword puzzle daily. She loved her grandchildren and the time she spent caring for them. Everyone that met her loved her and she was everyone’s confidant.
Her funeral is Monday, May 7th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 11:00 AM in North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Drive, Auburn. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, May 6th from 3:00 until 5:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
