Obituary

Helen A. (Hoyen) Morin, 88, of Worcester died Tuesday, May 1st at home surrounded by her family. Her husband of 40 years, Raymond R. Morin, Sr. died in 1996. She leaves three sons, Raymond R. Morin, Jr., Thomas M. Morin and his wife, Denise all of Worcester, Christopher R. Morin and his wife, Jennifer of Shrewsbury; a daughter, Susan C. Morin and her partner, Chris Rudzinski of Somerville; eight grandchildren, Thomas Jr., Robert, Michael, Jonathan, Sarah, Joshua, Julia and Jacob; a great granddaughter, Keegan Claire; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Shirley Hoyen.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of George and Nourita (Donabed) Hoyen and graduated from the former High School of Commerce. Helen worked as a clerk at Price Chopper Supermarket and the former Big D for 40 years, retiring in 1996. Mrs. Morin enjoyed taking care of her family and cooking for them. Helen enjoyed going to the casinos with her husband. Their favorite destination was Foxwoods. She loved spending time in her gardens. A favorite pastime was travelling with her husband and daughter, Susan. She liked to read and was a member of the Susan and Helen Book Club. She was an avid Patriots fan. Helen was a strong, tough and smart lady who will be dearly missed.
Her funeral is Friday, May 4th with a service at 10:00 AM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, May 3rd from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
