Lorraine M. (Martineau) Pion, age 95, passed away on April 27, 2018 at Heritage Hall East Nursing Home. She was born on March 2, 1923 in Lawrence, MA, a daughter of the late Oneziphore and Mary (Marquis) Martineau. Lorraine was a talented artist, devoted wife, creative homemaker and mother who also was a communicant of the former Assumption Parish. She was very involved with Assumption Church where she contributed to the church renovations by restoring and painting some of the statues and murals. She is predeceased by her husband Francis G. Pion who passed away in 2005. She leaves 3 sons, Martin Pion and his wife Pamela of Chicopee, Robert Pion and his wife Maureen of West Springfield and Lawrence Pion and his wife Mona of Sunderland; 1 daughter Francine Healey and her husband Paul of Needham; 10 grandchildren, Nicole Pion Lanoue, Julia Pion, Anna Pion McGrail, Jessica Pion, Kathryn Pion Ward, John Healey, Michael Healey, Amanda Healey, Leah Pion and Mackenzie Pion along with her 4 beloved great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brother John Paul Martineau and by her sister G. Agnes Dutremble. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 4:00- 7:00 p.m. at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Name of Jesus Parish at Assumption Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, South Hadley.
