Obituary

David V. Shea, Sr. 89, of Webster died Saturday, April 21st in Harrington Hospital surrounded by his family. He leaves his wife of 31 years, Isabella H. (Hunter) Shea; five sons, David Shea, Jr. and his wife, Paula of Worcester, Mark Shea and his wife, Linda of Greenfield, James Keay and his wife, Janet of Raynham, Stephen Keay and his wife, Jane of Hamstead, NH and William Keay and his wife, Lisa of North Brookfield; two daughters, Jessica Soule of Grafton, NH and Noreen; a brother, Robert Shea of Worcester; a sister, Jacqueline “Jackie” Kinney of Brookfield; brother in law, Bob Hennigan; sister in law, Betty Shea; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, especially Diane Sullivan of Charlton. He was predeceased by two brothers, Richard and James and two sisters, Elaine and Ann.
He was born in Worcester the son of Richard J. and Marion O. (Helie) Shea and graduated from Boys Trade. David was a plumber with 50 years of membership in the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 4. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean War. Mr. Shea was a member of Hillcrest Country Club and a member of the former American Legion Main South Post 341. He enjoyed painting and was an avid hunter, golfer and history buff. Mr. Shea was a family man who cherished the time he spent with his family.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 26th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester followed by a service at 7:00 PM. Burial will be on Friday, April 27th at 12:00 PM in Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Epilepsy Foundation New England, 335 Main St, Wilmington, MA 01887 or to Veterans Inc., 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
