Obituary

WEBSTER – Paula M. Chauvin, 68, formerly of Webster, died Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Island Health and Rehabilitation Center in Florida after enduring many years of health issues.

She leaves four sisters: Donna M. McDonald of Wethersfield, CT, Susan A. Desaulnier and her husband Richard of Dudley, Ann C. Bonnette and her boyfriend Ted Sharpe of The Villages, FL, and Jeanne L. Katrenak and her husband Joe of Dudley; a brother and Godchild Thomas J. Chauvin of Somerville; five nieces: Jennifer Barrrett (Godchild), Leslie Hamm, Carolyn Cole, Jeanie Moulton, and Kelly McDonald; two nephews: David Desaulnier and James Bonnette; eight great-nieces and nephews: a sister-in-law, Sara Chauvin of Southbridge; a Godchild Daniel Chauvin of Buzzards Bay; several cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard G. Chauvin in 2002.

She was born and raised in Webster, the daughter of George A. Jr. and Constance J. (Rheaume) Chauvin. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1967 and later earned a Bachelor of Science Degree at Worcester State College in 1979. Paula worked at the former Shawmut Bank in Worcester and then at Webster Five Cent Savings Bank in Webster. She moved to Florida in 1996.

When she lived in Webster, she belonged to Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, its Ladies of St. Anne, its bible study group, the Circle of Charity, and the Daughters of Isabella. She was presently a member of the Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Merritt Island, FL, a dedicated member of its Council of Catholic Women and a volunteer at the Space Coast Center for Independent Living. She was an advocate for elderly concerns and a pro-life supporter. She enjoyed crafting, making wooden rosaries for others and reading.

The Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 8 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street, Webster. Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
