SPENCER: Rachael A. Kowal, 34, of Pleasant St., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 11 in her home after a long and courageous battle with colon cancer.
She leaves her soon to be husband Jed LaMagdelaine with whom she lived, her mother Kathryn (Young) Payne and her husband Richard of Charlton, her father John Kowal of Spencer, brothers Daniel Kowal and his wife Karen of Sturbridge, and Benjamin Kowal of Millbury, her nephews Ethan and Colin Kowal and niece Madeline Kowal.
Rachael was the bar manager at Johnny's Tavern in Amherst for several years prior to her illness.
Born in Marion, Ma., she graduated from David Prouty High School in Spencer, and UMASS-Amherst.
Rachael’s magnetic and vibrant personality, wit, and devotion to others affected everyone who knew her.
Special thanks to Rachael’s aunt Kathleen Nash for providing care and compassion during her final days.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is planned at Tower Hill Botanical Garden at 11 French Drive in Boylston, MA on Tuesday, May 29, at 7:00 p.m. All are welcomed.
