Obituary

Sally Ann (Ritter) Perkins-Grigaliunas went home to be an angel in the Lord’s home on Sunday, April 1, 2018. She is survived by her loving daughter Sheree Perkins of Worcester and her loving son Hampton Perkins and his wife Pamela. She leaves two grandchildren, Ashley Perkins of Houston, TX and Jason Perkins of Worcester. She is predeceased by a sister, Janis Novotny. Sally was born in Bell, CA a daughter of John and Jane (Maurer) Ritter and was raised in Corunna, MI.
Her family was her “life”. Sally loved all people and always remembered everyone’s birthdays with an acknowledgement of a card and her own little intimate feelings of the person. She appreciated the “simple life” and treasured her daily morning walks with her yorkie Molly. Molly was family and she loved her with all her heart.
Sally attended the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. All her working years, were spent in the medical field until she retired. She worked at St. Vincent Hospital, UMass Medical Center, and the Fallon Clinic. Sally volunteered at “Why Me-Sherry’s House”, Hope Lodge and the Breast Clinic at the Memorial Campus of UMass Memorial. She also was a “Big Sister” in her younger years.
She was a lifelong member of the YMCA both Central Branch, as well as the Greendale Branch where she worked out faithfully. Sally was an advocate of exercise saying, “God gave you a body to take care of.” This proved to be advantageous when she had mitral valve replacement surgery by Dr. Okike who saved her life in 2010.
Sally was very artistic, painting and doing floral designs and interior decorating in her home.
The family would like to extend a special thank you and acknowledgement to all the staff at the Oasis at Dodge Park who entered Sally’s life and allowed her to live her life in a kind and caring residence.
Respecting Sally's wishes, there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, 322 Eighth Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001. Dirsa-Morin Funeral Home, 298 Grafton St. is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be extended on Sally's tribute page at www.worcesterfuneral.com
