Obituary


WORCESTER- Margaret M. (Healy) Moriarty, 93, of Worcester passed away Saturday, March 24 in Notre Dame du Lac Assisted Living Center.

Her husband, Worcester Police Officer, Robert W. Moriarty died in 1997. She leaves four children, Maureen E. Moriarty Tamburro of Waltham, Paul M. Moriarty and his wife, Celia of Bend, OR, Philip J. Moriarty and his wife, Sharon of Worcester and Eileen M. Sears and her husband, Steven of East Bridgewater; nine grandchildren, Paul, Olivia, Rowan, Brian, Brendan, Sharon, Regina, Robert and Caitriona. Her daughter, Sharon A. Fournier and her brother, Edward P. Healy predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Denis and Nellie (O’Sullivan) Healy and graduated from Saint Stephen’s High School.

Margaret worked for many years in the Dietary Department at the former Worcester City Hospital, prior to that she worked at Reed and Prince Company. She was a longtime devoted member of Blessed Sacrament Church. Margaret was very proud of her Irish heritage being the child of Irish immigrants from Cork and Kerry. She enjoyed travelling to Ireland and kept in close contact with relatives there. She was a devoted Red Sox fan. Her greatest love in life though, was time spent with her children and grandchildren.

A Funeral will be held Tuesday April 3 at 10:30am in the Chapel of Notre Dame du Lac, 555 Plantation Street. Burial will be in Saint John’s Cemetery. Visiting Hours are Monday, April 2 from 5:00 to 8:00pm at Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to, Notre Dame Health du lac Assisted Living Center 555 Plantation Street, Worcester, 01605.
