Obituary


West Boylston: Ralph H. Atchue, Jr., 70, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 8, 2018 surrounded by his loving family in Rose Monahan Hospice House in Worcester. He leaves his wife of 49 years, Deborah Wyman Atchue, his son and daughter-in-law Scott and Kathleen Atchue of West Boylston and their children Griffin, Regan and Evan, daughter and son-in-law Saara and George Cox of Spencer and their children Jordan and Delaney, and daughter and son-in-law Rebecca and Sean Lemay of West Boylston and their children Charlotte and Samuel. He also leaves his sister and brother-in-law Marjorie and William Clark of West Boylston, and their children Tara Clark Carelli of Grafton, William Clark of Rutland and Brian Clark of Washington DC, as well as many great nieces and nephews. Ralph was pre-deceased by his sister Donna Marie Atchue, brother Michael Williams and step-sister Eleanor Boucher.

Ralph was born in Worcester, son of the late Ralph Atchue and Shirley (Atchue) Supernor and pre-deceased by his step-father Melvin Supernor. He graduated from North High School and proudly served his country in the US Coast Guard. He worked for the US Postal Service for 35 years, serving as Post Master in many local communities. He was an active member of St. Michaels on the Heights Church for over 50 years and a member of the West Boylston American Legion Post. He enjoyed fixing everything and anything, wandering Home Depot, making people laugh, watching his grandchildren play sports, vacationing in FL and Maine, playing cards once a week with his buddies, coaching, playing golf, softball, disc golf and skiing – being around Ralph made everyone smile.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 5pm to 8pm in Nordgren Funeral Home 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. A funeral will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 11 a.m. in St. Michaels on the Heights Church 340 Burncoat St. Worcester. Graveside memorial to take place in the spring at Mount Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ralph's name may be made to St. Michael’s on the Heights Memorial Fund or a charity that speaks to your heart.
