Obituary

Alla Dunkan Polinsky (Alicia), of Framingham, MA formerly of Caracas, Venezuela, passed away peacefully on March 1st, 2018, at the age of 73. She was born November 23rd, 1944 in Glogaw, Germany to Tatiana Polinsky and Vladimir Dunkan, and is survived by her siblings Agatha Dunkan and Vladimir Dunkan, her husband Jose Luis Gonzalez Lopez and her children, Jose Luis, Tania and Raquel.

In search of a new beginning for their kids, her family emigrated from Germany to Venezuela after WWII and it was there were they established a home and planted their roots. She graduated from college with a degree in Education and went on to become a first grade teacher for a public school in Puerto La Cruz, Anzoategui (Venezuela), in one of the poorest areas in town. It was in teaching were she found her calling and a passion that would define her life.

After close to 20 years of services, she retired and devoted her time to her family and charity work, founding two charitable organizations with the support of local companies to help those in need – Associacion de Damas de Meneven Puerto La Cruz, and Asociacion de Damas de Corpoven Anaco. She always believed that it was our duty to help others and to share the blessings we were so fortunate to have. She had a fantastic sense of humor, loved to laugh, to make others happy. She loved to play bowling and was an accomplished bowler, several times champion of her league. She had an insatiable appetite for books and loved to read anything that she could get her hands on – from mystery novels to political topics to even Harry Potter. She was passionate about helping and teaching others, with an open mind that would defy boundaries. She was a caring friend, a devoted and loving mother, daughter, sister and wife, and a protector of her family, who in her own words, were the center of her life, her joy and her most important accomplishment. Nothing will ever replace the warmth she left in our hearts, the words of wisdom she shared with us, the unconditional love she gave us. We will miss her deeply and will always carry her in our hearts, forever.
