Obituary

Charlton/Worcester- Jean Stevenson (Kelley) Bendor, 69, passed away following a long illness on February 26, 2018 at the Masonic Health System Skilled Nursing Facility in Charlton, MA with family by her side.
She leaves behind her husband of 47 years, Jonathan Bendor of Charlton, MA and their three sons, Jacob Torrey Bendor of San Francisco, CA, Jordan Alexander Bendor of New Haven, CT and Joseph Jackson Bendor of San Mateo, CA; two grandchildren, Elliot Werner Bendor and Lucille Sabine Bendor; and her sister, Barbara Ann Rolfes of Northborough, MA.
Jean was born in Framingham, MA, daughter of the late Jason (Scottish Rite Mason) and Lucy (née Valentine) Kelley. Jonathan and Jean met while working at the Raytheon Company in Wayland, MA and were married in 1970. Jean is a graduate of Framingham High School and Lasell College, Newton, MA and worked as an administrative assistant until her first child, Jacob, was born. She dedicated her life thereafter to her children and family while staying active in various social groups such as the Southborough Garden Club.
Jean enjoyed being a mother above all and was very skilled at cooking, sewing, arts and craft work as well as flower arranging and gardening. Jean also enjoyed traveling from a young age. Prior to her marriage, she bought a VW Beetle in Germany and toured much of Europe for several weeks, afterwards bringing her new car back to the USA. During her married life, Jean had the opportunity and good fortune to travel to such places as the US Virgin Islands, Nassau, Bermuda, Barbados, Aruba, much of California, Norway, Denmark, Spain, France, Florida, and the Washington DC area.
A Memorial Gathering for Jean will be held at the Great Room of the Masonic Home Overlook Campus on Sunday, March 25th between 3-5 PM.
