Gerry Pittman, also known as “Mr. Happy”, was a gift from God. He passed away at home on Tuesday, February 20, 2018.
He leaves his caregiver and friend of 20 years, Robert Wardell, his sisters Rita Pittman and Patricia Martini and a brother Robert. He also leaves his friends George and Lois Murphy as well as all his friends at Aspire and My Choice Programs. Gerry was supported by My Choice in their Shared Living Program.
Gerry loved people. Everywhere he went he would ask them, “Are you happy? You got to be happy like me. I’m happy all the time!” He was especially fond of “Gusie boy” and the rest of the staff at the Pickle Barrel on Pleasant St. where he visited weekly.
A committal service will be held on Thursday, February 22nd at 11:00 AM in St. John’s Mausoleum, 260 Cambridge Street. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to My Choice Programs, 1158 Main St. Worcester, MA 01603. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is directing arrangements.
