WORCESTER-Gabriel Melichian passed away peacefully February 11, 2018 at the age of 93. Born in Craiova, Romania, he emigrated to Worcester in 1989. He survived his wife, Elena Melichian and his son Manoug Melichian, and leaves his sister, Mary Davoudian, and three nieces and their husbands Alice and Jim Apostolou, Simona and Sergiu Alenak and Vartus and Paul Varadian, as well as many grand nephews and nieces. A WWII veteran, he retired from a long and dedicated profession as an economist in Romania. He worked for the city of Worcester as an official election inspector, and was a CPA for the Vartan and Co. of New York City.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, February 14 at 11:00AM in Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church, 635 Grove Street. A visiting hour will also be held at church from 10:00AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church. Arrangements are in the care of Callahan Fay & Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester.
