Obituary

Worcester – Germaine C. (Charest) Simkus, 90, of Worcester, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 6th in Saint Vincent Hospital.
Mrs. Simkus is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Frank C. Simkus; a sister, Claire Evans of Worcester: a special niece, Kathleen Bradley, and many other nieces and nephews. Germaine was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Oscar and Lena (Thibeault) Charest and is also predeceased by a brother, Edward (Pete) Charest. She is a graduate of the former David Hale Fanning Trade School and then worked for over 45 years as a stitcher for the David Clark Company in Worcester.
Mrs. Simkus was an avid animal lover. She owned and cared for many pets throughout her life as well as donating to several animal charities. She also enjoyed traveling around New England with her husband shopping and playing cards with her friends.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family and memorial contributions in memory of Germaine may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League 139 Holden Street Worcester, MA 01606.
