Joseph Anthony Brignolo, of Medford, passed away peacefully, at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, January 18th. He was 87.

Born in Revere, he was the son of the late Joseph and Concetta (Grippi) Brignolo. Joseph graduated from Somerville High School with the Class of 1948. Following graduation, Joseph enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and proudly served his country in the Korean War. After his honorable discharge in 1951, Joseph worked as a mechanic for a short time. He later started working with the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier out of the Cambridge branch. Joseph retired from the Cambridge post office after 30 years of service in the community.

In his spare time, Joseph loved playing cards, especially poker. He was also a member of many bowling leagues and enjoyed playing bingo. When he was home, Joseph enjoyed watching wheel of fortune.

Joseph was the beloved husband of Ines (Maietta) Brignolo. The two were married on September 5, 1954 at St. Clement Church in Medford. Together they shared 64 loving years of marriage. He was the devoted father of David Brignolo of Medford, and Donna Sepavich and her husband Dennis of North Charleston, South Carolina. Joseph was the loving grandfather of Heather Brignolo and her fiancé Christopher Shirkey of Raynham, Albert Brignolo and his partner Kelsey Gaffney of Arlington, and the loving great grandfather of Camden Joseph Brignolo of Arlington. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, on Tuesday, January 23rd at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4 through 8 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
