Madeleine E. "Mitzi" (Michaud) Barros, 78, of Westport died Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Charlton Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by Urbano A. "Tony" Barros, her husband of 54 years.
Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Aurel and Lauretta (Pelletier) Michaud, she had lived in Westport for 50 years. Prior to retirement in 2005, she was a registered nurse at St. Anne's Hospital. Mrs. Barros was a Communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Westport.
Survivors include 2 sons: David G. Barros of Dartmouth and Michael S. Barros and his wife Traci of Little Compton; a daughter: Ann Marie C. Correia and her husband Emanuel of Dartmouth; a brother: A. Richard Michaud of Ledyard, CT; 2 sisters: Annette Thibault of Fall River and Lucille Mercier of Dartmouth; 4 grandchildren: Ashley, Chelsey and her husband Andrew, Nicole and Aimee; a great granddaughter: Olivia Galle; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, January 18, 2018 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church at 10 AM.
Calling hours Wednesday 5 - 8 PM
Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
