John J. Silvestro Jr., 51, of Derry, NH passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at his home. He was born in Lawrence, MA on June 6, 1966, the son of John J. Silvestro Sr and Barbara Corrigan. John attended Methuen High School and Salem State College. He was a self-employed landscaper prior to moving to New Hampshire. John was an avid golfer and fisherman and was quite proud to have been a winner of the Alan Rogers Memorial Golf Tournament. He also enjoyed attending Pokemon tournaments with his son. John loved all of his New England sports teams. He also had a penchant for having a “Caddyshack” quote for anytime. There was never a shortage of laughter when John was in the room.
John was predeceased by his wife, Roberta Kay Silvestro. He is survived by his mother Barbara Corrigan, his father, John J. Silvestro Sr and his wife Joanne, two children, Stephen Silvestro and his wife Michelle and Rachel Silvestro and her fiancé Walter Jackson, five grandchildren, Walter, Sophia, William, Robert and Wyatt, seven siblings, Jennifer Silvestro, Jeffrey Silvestro, Jessica Silvestro, and James Silvestro, James Bodenrader, Jennifer Bodenrader, and Julie Bodenrader Grandmaison, his uncle Kevin Corrigan and his wife De, his significant other, Christine Bratton and her children, Danielle Bratton and Derek Bratton, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Following cremation, calling hours were held on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 2 – 4pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A small, intimate service was held following the calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jimmy Fund, co/ Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
