CHICOPEE – Estelle M. George, 94, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, December 31, 2017. She was born in Holyoke on November 16, 1923, a beloved daughter of the late Doria and Bertha (Fontaine) George. She was employed as a Switchboard Operator at Westover Air Force Base in Chicopee. She was a communicant of the former Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Chicopee. She leaves her loving brother, Robert George and his wife, Candace, of Chicopee; and her loving sister, Sister Helene George of Arlington, MA; her dear sister-in-law, Gloria George of Chicopee; her dear brother-in-law, Rudy LeBel of Florida; and her many dear nephews and nieces. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her son, Alan Terrell; her sister, Claire LeBel; her brothers, Alfred and Hector George; and her companion, Alfred Blaine. Her Funeral will be held on Friday morning, January 5, 2018 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 12 noon), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 12 noon to 12:30 p.m. before the Mass.
