Hampton, NH – Phyllis (Bratko) Grammatic, 92, of Hampton, NH and formerly of Worcester, MA died on Wednesday, December 27th after an illness.
Phyllis was married for 47 years to the late William J. Grammatic, who died in 1994. She is survived by a son, W. Norman Grammatic Jr. and his wife Christine of Woodstock, GA; two daughters, Linda Sage and her husband, James Tuttle of Raymond, NH and Judith Erickson of Hampton, NH; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Grammatic was born in Marlborough, MA daughter of the late Koci and Louisa Bratko and is also predeceased by two brothers, John and William Bratko and a sister, Emily Gilbert.
Mrs. Grammatic owned and operated the former Ocean Motel in Hampton Beach with her husband for over 40 years. Phyllis enjoyed all aspects of owning the motel, whether it was spending time interacting with the guests or helping out with maintenance on the property.
Phyllis belonged to St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church before moving to New Hampshire. She had great affection for animals, especially cats. Phyllis enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, playing computer Keno and socializing with their many lifelong friends she and daughter Judith made at the motel.
She was proud of the fact that she was able to spend time working with the USO as a both a singer and dancer entertaining the United States Military in her younger years.
Private funeral services were held with burial in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. Memorial contributions in memory of Phyllis may be made to the New Hampshire SPCA 104 Portsmouth, NH 03885. Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester assisted the family with arrangements.
