SOMERSET – Robert A. Dumas, age 59 of Somerset, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017 with his loved ones by his side. He was the son of the late Richard M. & Doris (De Point) Dumas and the former husband of Jacqueline Ferreira-Dumas & her husband David Steinert, also one of Robert’s loyal & close friends. Robert had worked as a Corrections Officer for the Bristol County Sheriff’s Dept. and previously for 15 yrs. at the Anderson Little Distribution Center and also for Deknetell of Fall River.
Robert loved to take very long walks, up to 10 miles a day. He also loved to go fishing, boating, cooking, and especially spending time with his son Robbie.
In addition to his former wife and her husband, he is survived by his Son, Robert Allan Dumas Jr. of Somerset; his twin brother: Richard M. Dumas Jr. and his sister: Debra Albro; several nieces & nephews. He was the brother of the late Kenneth B. Dumas & Jayne E. Hopkins.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Saturday at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours on Friday 4-8 P.M.
