Florence A. (Flynn) Carmichael, age 86, of Norton, formerly of Needham, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late James Carmichael, to whom she was wed for nearly fifty-nine years at the time of his death in 2011.
Born in Boston, MA on March 3, 1931, she was the loving daughter of the late Thomas H. and Margaret (McGourty) Flynn.
Florence grew up in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston and was educated in Boston schools.
A dedicated homemaker to her adoring family, she had made her home in Norton for the past four years and was a former longtime resident of Needham. Her hobbies included cake decorating, arranging flowers and she was also an avid cook.
She was the devoted mother of Bruce G. Carmichael and his wife Michelle of Waltham, Thomas H. Carmichael and his wife Christine of Norton, Mark V. Carmichael and his wife Pamela of Sandwich, and the late James T. Carmichael and John S. Carmichael. She is also survived by her cherished 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
Services, along with burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne will be held privately at the convenience of her family. Visiting hours have been omitted.
