Obituary

LEICESTER: Charles D. Schliker, Sr., 89, of Mayflower Road died Saturday, Dec. 16 in St. Vincent Hospital after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 49 years, Judith A. (Champoux) Schliker, a son Charles D. Schliker, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Hudson, a daughter Teresa M. Schliker of Worcester, a sister Helen Schliker of Leicester and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters; Anna Beahn, Mary McCluskey and Frances Conley and one brother; Richard Schliker.
Mr. Schliker was born in Worcester, son of Clark and Rose (Casale) Schliker. He was a warehouse manager at Reed Plastics in Holden for many years before he retired. After retirement he volunteered at the Worcester County Food Bank. He was a former member of the Leicester Knights of Columbus Council 4528. He enjoyed watching car races, gardening and doing handy work around his house. In the 1950's and 1960's he raced oval track cars at several area race tracks. He owned his own plane and enjoyed flying around New England.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 11:00 AM in MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. A calling hour will precede the service from 10:00-11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Worcester County Food Bank, 474 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
