Tobias O. Cordeiro, age 72, of Fall River, passed away on Saturday December 16, 2017. Born in Arrifes Ponta Delgada São Miguel Açores, he was the son of the late Silvino R. and Deolinda (deAlmeida) Cordeiro, and was the husband of Maria E. (deSousa Fernandes) Cordeiro. Tobias
served 3 years in the Portuguese military, during the Portuguese Coloinal War in Angola. He was also a mason at Ohara Griffin, enjoyed fishing, gardening, tending to his grapevines, helping others as much as he could, loved his canaries and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children; Luis Cordeiro (wife Lydia) of Seekonk, Tobias Cordeiro of Dartmouth, Nelia Tavares (husband Rui) of New Bedford, Hildeborto Cordeiro of Fall River, John Cordeiro, of Fall River, and Paula Cordeiro of Fall River, siblings Silvino and João Cordeiro, Capitolina Cabral, and Espirito Santo, grandchildren; Jonathan, Brandon, and Ryan Cordeiro and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Manuel, Durval, and Jose Cordeiro.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Wednesday here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. Michael’s Church at 10 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours on Tuesday from 5-8 P.M.
