Constantina (Raposo) Carreiro, age 76, of Taunton, passed away, in the presence of her loving family, on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Morton Hospital in Taunton. She was the beloved wife of Jose Carreiro.
Born in St Michael, Azores, Portugal on May 1, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Vergino Joaquim Perreira and Conceicao (Raposo) Perreira.
Constantina grew up, and was educated in Portugal and moved to Taunton in 1981. She had been employed as a lamp assembler at Reed & Barton in Taunton.
A communicant of the Annunciation of the Lord Church in Taunton, her favorite times were those taking care of her family, her home and cooking.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her devoted children Fernando Carreiro, Maria Fatima Freitas, Elvira DaSilveria and Cesar Carreiro all of Taunton. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 7 siblings and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will begin on Thursday, December 21st at 9:00 A.M. from the Taunton Funeral Home, 8 Crapo St. (Off Route 140, Tremont) Taunton, followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in the Annunciation of Lord Church, 31 First St., Taunton. Burial will follow at Mayflower Hill Cemetery in Taunton.
Visiting hours will be held at the Taunton Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 20th from 5:00-8:00 P.M.
