Obituary

WORCESTER: William R. “Bill” Barbour, 68, died unexpectedly in his home on Monday, December 11, 2017. His wife of more than 30 years, Sandra J. (Messier) Barbour, died May 2, 2015.

He leaves three sons, William Messier and his wife Annette of North Oxford, Richard W. Barbour and his wife Meghan of Southbridge, Ronnie E. Barbour of Southbridge; four sisters, Norma Sweeney and her husband Dickie, Gladys A. Stout and her husband Jim of Oxford, Donna Senosk and her husband George of Worcester, Isabella Bixby of Worcester; eight grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A brother, Richard Barbour and a sister, Susan Barbour, both predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Norman and Nellie E. (Walker) Barbour and lived in Worcester most of his life.

Bill was a truck driver and longtime member of the Teamsters Union Local No. 170. He was also a member of the Auburn Senior Center. He enjoyed camping, fishing, bowling, playing pitch and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his love for telling stories.
