It is with great sadness that the family of Vaske Melo announces his passing on Saturday December 2nd, 2017. He leaves his wife of 63 years, Lirika (Cake) Melo; two sons, Peter Melo and his wife, Ornela, Gjergji Melo and his wife, Kozeta; a daughter, Doloreza Agolli and her husband, Agim all of Worcester; five granddaughters; five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was born in Korce, Albania the son of Koli and Dhimitrulla (Malaveci) Melo. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a veteran of World War II, a leader in his community and well respected by his family and friends. His toasts, laughs, songs, and speeches will be forever engraved in our hearts and the family will continue his legacy by cherishing his memory forever. He will be missed dearly.
His funeral is Wednesday, December 6th with a service at 11:00 AM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, December 5th from 4:30 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
