Obituary

WORCESTER – Genova Perez, 64 of Worcester died peacefully on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Worcester Health Center following a period of declining health.

He was born in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, a son of the late Joaquin and Amada (Maldonado) Perez and has lived in Worcester for almost 30 years. Prior to his retirement, Genova worked as a machine operator for the former Come Play Products in Worcester. An avid bicyclist, Genova could be seen passing the time riding through the street of Worcester. He was often referred to as the “man on the bike”. Family meant everything to Genova, and he enjoyed spending time with his siblings and their children.

He leaves his two children, Loida Perez and Peggy Perez as well as several grandchildren; his sisters, Maria and Romanita of Worcester and Rosa of Bronx, NY; his brother, Miguel of Worcester; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Marco and Georgina.

Relatives and friends are invited to honor, remember and celebrate Genova’s life by visiting with his family on Friday, December 1, from 6-9 p.m. at the CALLAHAN, FAY & CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester and then on Saturday, December by attending a graveside service at 11 a.m. in the Oakwood Cemetery, 3 Moffitt Ave., Bay Shore, L.I., NY. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
