Mrs. Sandra A. (Sheehan) Twomey
Mrs. Sandra A. (Sheehan) Twomey, a resident of Medford for more than 55 years and beloved wife of William P. Twomey, passed away at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston on Friday, November 24, 2017. She was 80 years old. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on April 16, 1937, she was the beloved daughter of the late Francis Sheehan and Dorothy (Harris) (Sheehan) Savoia. Mrs. Twomey was a graduate of the Boston City School of Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse for many years at Boston City Hospital rising to chief surgical operating room nurse
She was a member of Saint Joseph’s Mothers Club, a tireless Saint Joseph’s Bingo volunteer and a member of the Sodality at St. Joseph. She loved being with her family, friends and swimming. Her smile, laugh and loving way will be dearly missed.
Besides her beloved husband, William, she is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law; Thomas L. and his wife Kathleen R. Twomey of Medford, siblings; Nancy Savoia of Los Alamos, New Mexico and John Savoia of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Alice Sheehan and Francis Sheehan.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, from 4 to 7 PM. Interment will be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Donations in Sandra's memory may be made to the Medford Center Alzheimer’s Adult Day Program , 121 Washington Street, Medford, MA 02155.
