WEBSTER - Michael D. Hazzard, 56, died Wednesday, November 22, 2017 in Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge surrounded by family after a period of declining health.
He leaves 2 brothers, Morten J. Hazzard and his wife Carolynn of Holland and Mark S. Hazzard and his wife Tabatha of Groton, CT; three nephews, two nieces, a grand-niece Abigail “Abi,” and cousins.
He was born in Munich, Germany, son of Frederick A. and Margarete D. “Doris” (Doehler) Hazzard. He moved to Thompson, CT in 1972 and had lived in Webster since 1980. He attended Tourtellotte Memorial High School in North Grosvenordale, CT.
Mr. Hazzard held a variety of jobs. He worked on the production line at Bates Shoe Company in Webster. He was employed by the Colonial Club Restaurant as a dishwasher. He also enjoyed working with the greyhounds at the former Plainfield Greyhound Track in Plainfield, CT.
He was a member of the Thompson Congregational Church.
A service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 3, in Scanlon Funeral service, 38 East Main Street, Webster. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, prior to the service.
