Mary A. Toboika, 92, of Worcester, formerly of Rutland, died peacefully on Monday November 13, 2017 in the Christopher House with family by her side. She is survived by a brother, Henry Toboyko and his wife Barbara of Auburn; she also leaves her nephews Ted and his wife Gloria and Carl and his wife Dawn both from New York; a niece and care giver, Carol Ann Koski and many other nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces. She was predeceased by a sister, Sophie J. Koskie and three brothers, Sigmond Toboika, Louis Toboyko and Stanley Toboika. Mary was born and raised in Worcester a daughter of Stanislaw and Anna (Florkowska) Toboika. She lived most of her life in Worcester and had lived for a short time in Hartford, Ct., and Rutland, Ma. Mary graduated from the former High School of Commerce, Class of 1943 and Becker Jr. College. Mary worked as a Legal Secretary and a Secretary – Stenographer. During World War II Mary volunteered with the U.S.O. for two years at Ft. Devens and at Cushing Hospital, Framingham. Mary enjoyed working for the Santa Fund of the Salvation Army, gardening, dancing and traveling the world. She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and belonged to several Senior Social Clubs.
The funeral will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street with a Mass at 10:30 A.M. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour will be held on Friday November 17 from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. in the funeral home.
