Obituary

Pantos Panagiotidis, 81, of Shrewsbury, died Wednesday, October 4th. His wife of 56 years, Konstantinia (Kapoukranidis) died in 2014. He is survived by four daughters, Maria Skritakis and her husband, Angelo with whom he lived, Dimitra Hatzopoulos and her husband, Simeon of Melbourne, Australia, Chrisafi Diamantidou and her husband, Nicholas of Hrisohorafa, Greece and Athena Panagiotidis of South Yarmouth; a brother, Christos Panagiotidis and his wife, Maria of Hrisohorafa, Greece; three sisters, Athena Totsidou and Maria Tasoudis both of Hrisohorafa, Greece and Dorothea Vasiliadou and her husband, George of Melbourne, Australia; his son-in-law, George Yantsides and his wife, Marilyn Gordon of Pocasset, a sister-in-law, Theophania Panagiotidis of Rhodes, Greece. He also is survived by his eleven grandchidren, Konstantinos and Pantos Hatzopoulos, Maria Enetzilis, Konstantina Hatzopoulos, Dimitrios, Christina, Konstantina, and Pantos Yantsides, Demetrios, Pantos, and Soultana-Konstantina Skritakis, and nine great-grandchildren. His brother, George Panagiotidis predeceased him.

He was born in Hrisohorafa, Greece, the son of Demetrios and Konstantina (Dimopoulos) Panagiotidis; and had served in the Greek Army. Mr. Panagiotidis was a proud employee of the Rand Whitney Corporation, where he had worked as a machine operator. He was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral and Cultural Center Hrisohorafiton Alexander The Great. His greatest joy was his beloved wife and time spent with his grandchildren, especially when they were home from college.
