Anita P. (Soucy) Dion, 93, of Salem, passed away peacefully at The Lafayette Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facility, in Marblehead, with her family by her side on Saturday, September 23, 2017.
She was the wife of the late Victor H. Dion with whom she had shared 62 years of marriage.

Born in Greenville, NH, and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late George and Laura (Rodier) Soucy. Anita was a graduate of Salem High School and married Victor shortly after her graduation. She devoted her next years to homemaking and the care of her family. With her children in college, she began working at Marshall’s in Vinnin Square in customer services for the next twenty years. Following her retirement from Marshall’s she devoted her time to the care of her grandchildren. Family was everything to Anita. She was a member of Ste. Anne Parish of Salem for many years.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah J. Dion of Salem, her son, Thomas V. Dion and his wife Milena of Milford, her daughter-in-law Patricia Dion of Salem, three grandsons, Tyson Dion and his wife Abbey of Swampscott, Todd Dion and his wife Jackie of Salem and David Dion of Milford. She also leaves five great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Deven, Ollie, Trevor and Winnie. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her son, Ronald R. Dion, and her sisters, Pearl, Frances, Lorraine & Jeannette.

Anita’s family would like to extend a special thanks to her wonderful caregiver, Sue Donahue, and the staff at Lafayette Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facility for their care and support.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visiting hours on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 8:00 to 10:00 AM at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem to be followed by her Funeral Mass in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Lafayette, c/o Resident’s Activities Fund, 25 Lafayette St., Marblehead 01945 or Ste. Anne Parish.
