Obituary

SPENCER: Germaine E. (Buignet) Delongchamp, 91, formerly of 39 Clark St., died Saturday, September 16 at the Jewish Healthcare in Worcester surrounded by her loving family.

She was the wife of Emery A. Delongchamp who died in 2008.

She leaves two sons: Gerard E. Delongchamp and his wife Mary Lou of Auburn, Philip R. Delongchamp of Spencer; three grandsons: Daniel E. Delongchamp and his wife Therese of Worcester, Jon-Michael Delongchamp and his wife Rachelle of Holden, Timothy J. Delongchamp and his wife Bonnie of Blackstone; eight great-grandchilden: Hannah, Ryan, Luke, Josephine, Sarah, Lilah, Frances, and Gerard.

Born in Fontaine-la-SorĂȘt, Normandy, France, she was the daughter of Raymond F. & Aline M (Breyne) Buignet.

Mrs. Delongchamp was a realtor for 25 years at Delongchamp Realty in Spencer, retiring in 1984. She was a former member of Mary, Queen of the Rosary Parish in Spencer, Our Lady of the Angels Parish in Worcester, and is currently a member of St. Anne-St. Patrick Parish in Fiskdale. She was a former president of the Assumption College volunteers, a former member of the French Institute at Assumption College, and the first woman Honorary Alumni of Assumption College. She was also a member of the Worcester County Realtor Association.

Germaine was well known among family and friends for her exquisite French cuisine, as many Bishops, Superior Generals, Priests, and friends were welcomed guests around her family table.

As a war-bride who was married at Notre Dame de la Croix church in Paris in 1945, she devoted her entire life to serving the needs of her beloved husband and family.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, September 20 from the J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer, with a Mass at 10 A.M. in St. Anne-St. Patrick Church, 16 Church St., Fiskdale. Family and friends attending the funeral are asked to go directly to the church in Fiskdale. Burial will follow in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are 4-7 pm Tuesday in the funeral home.
